Nominations are now open for the National Civil Honours and Awards (2019).
Each year, the public is invited to nominate persons to be considered for the eight (8) National Honours and Awards. Nominations open in January of each year and close at the end of March.
Nomination Forms are available as of January each year from the Chancery, Jamaica House, and also from Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies.
Awards are announced in the press on Independence Day, August 6. The Awards are presented by The Governor-General on National Heroes' Day, which is the third Monday in October.
As is customary, The Office of The Custos for the Parish of Kingston is seeking your participation in the Nomination of worthy individuals (Jamaican nationals) for National Civil Honours And Awards (2019). Persons DO NOT, necessarily, have to be a Justice of the Peace.

Kindly note the following:
- This request for nominations is in respect of Civil Honours and Awards and is not related to the award of Medals of Honour to members of the Uniformed Services.
- Duly completed and signed Nomination Forms must be returned to The Office of The Custos no later than Friday, March 22, 2019 for initial vetting and onward submission to the Office of the Prime Minster no later than Friday, March 29, 2019.
